EPA anticipates awarding approximately $46 million in Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) grant funding to eligible applicants, subject to the availability of funds. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing the availability of grant funding to implement projects aimed at reducing emissions from the nation’s existing fleet of older diesel engines. EPA anticipates awarding approximately $44 million in Diesel Emission Reduction Program (DERA) grant funding to eligible applicants. EPA anticipates releasing a separate Tribal DERA grant funding opportunity in early 2020.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of $26 million in grant funding to establish clean diesel projects aimed at reducing emissions from the US’ existing fleet of diesel engines. Grant funds may be used for clean diesel projects that use: EPA-verified retrofit technologies or certified engine configurations. Since the first year of the DERA program in 2008, EPA has awarded nearly 700 grants across the US.
