Leading 27 vehicle original equipment makers and 400 component makers from India and the global market will take part in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, which will be held in Bharat Mandapam, Delhi, from February 1-3.

The mega exhibition, with a focus on electric mobility and other alternative technologies, will also bring together more than 40 battery and storage companies. The event is being organised by the Ministry of Commerce, in partnership with several other ministries and industry bodies such as SIAM, ACMA, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association, Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles, and NASSCOM.

“Initially, there was so much resistance to this concept. When we started people thought that we couldn’t have an exhibition in less than a year, everybody said we need at least a year to prepare for this. But this is a country in a hurry to perform and wants to showcase to the world the best that we have to offer,” Minister of Commerce and Industries Piyush Goyal said while unveiling the logo of the expo.

Unlike the biannual India Auto Expo that was held in January 2023, the three-day event will feature the entire mobility ecosystem, including an exhibition of electric, hybrid, and bio-fuel vehicles, powertrain technologies, electrical and electronics subsystems, eco-friendly tires, battery technology, charging infrastructure, connected technologies, and alternative fuel technologies.

The expo will be a landmark event, heralding a new era of collaboration and innovation in the mobility sector, the commerce ministry said. Over 600 exhibitors from more than 50 countries will showcase their products, technologies and breakthroughs in mobility.

Apart from exhibitions, the show will have over 13 conferences on different aspects related to mobility. The ministry noted that the show will have participation from countries including the United States, Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, UAE, Russia, and Italy.
