To commemorate this expansion, Aptera intends to produce 53 UAE-exclusive builds of its solar EV called the Union (or Etihad) Edition.

The BMW Group will begin sourcing aluminum produced using solar electricity with immediate effect. Generating the electricity needed to produce primary aluminum, i.e. aluminum obtained directly from the mineral compound alumina, is alone responsible for about 60% of the global aluminum industry’s greenhouse gas emissions.

JFE Steel Corporation, Itochu Corporation and Emirates Steel Arkan, the largest steel company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will conduct joint detailed feasibility studies on the establishment of a supply chain of ferrous raw material for green ironmaking with low-carbon emission at the project site in Abu Dhabi.
