The GEM and Whip belong to a class of golf cart-like vehicles that aren’t required to meet the same federal safety standards as passenger vehicles. If no one wants your car (because people think it sucks), then no one will buy it, regardless of how good the fuel economy may or may not be. You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart. GM is making strides increasing their cars fuel economy. By then Volt would be hopelessly obsolete.
