And I’m one those million since they’re counting plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) as well as full battery electrics. Toyota Prius Prime PHEV – 14,275. Toyota RAV4 Prime PHEV – 7,988. Jeep Wrangler 4xe PHEV – 4,427. The number of EVs in my neighborhood seems to be growing weekly. Tesla Model Y EV – 61,022.

According to our EVAdoption research, as of January 1, 2022 there may be only four EVs (and possibly just two) for sale in the US that have final assembly in China. Currently only the Polestar 2 and Volvo S90 T8 PHEV are being produced in China for sale in the US. Volvo S90 T8 PHEV – Source: Volvo.

Alternatively, may we suggest the sound of the neighborhood ice cream truck? Until then, we can always program the ESS to make what Lotus refers to as "more futuristic sounds for electric vehicles [that] can be created using sampled sounds and generated waveforms." Although charging infrastructure is beginning to find its way into cities, it may be awhile until they are available in residential neighborhoods en masse. Of course, everything has its drawbacks and one problem with charging at home is that it is not an option available for some city dwellers. Follow us on Twitter!
