Cisco DeVries’ AB 811 Baby Goes Nationwide: President Clinton Backs USA PACE Bond Program

Sept 24, 2009, New York City (Sourced from prnewswire– The Clinton Global Initiative announced this afternoon a breakthrough for the long overdue clean energy retrofitting of America’s homes, commercial and apartment buildings.

President Clinton himself made the announcement of a national PACE finance program as part of the Clinton Global Initiative meeting in New York.  PACE stands for Property Assessed Clean Energy.

It’s exactly the same kind of land secured financing we’ve been reporting on here at Creative Greenius for over a year now in our coverage of AB 811.  And it all began as the brainchild of Cisco DeVries, AB 811’s undisputed Godfather and its most effective champion.

I welcome this great news of a national program and joyfully congratulate Cisco DeVries. He’s now getting to see what started as an innovative way for his family to afford solar panels, spread out nationally like that proverbial ripple generated by that solitary pebble.

Of course, Cisco would be the first to tell you that he didn’t do any of this alone and that the other proud parents of AB 811 style financing should be rightfully celebrating tonight as well. Big props to each of them as well!

This news means green jobs, a big boost for local economies across the country and a great investment of non-taxpayer dollars.  If you don’t like this program you don’t like oxygen.

I suspect the L.A. County AB 811 program which has already seen Howard Choy lay out a remarkable amount of the necessary groundwork, will proceed ahead as intended and be financing loans here in Los Angeles County in June of 2010.  And I intend to do everything in my power to help it succeed.
