There are more than 5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car neighborhood and airport offices, including the Mark Christopher Auto Center site, located within 15 miles of 90% of the US population.

Although charging infrastructure is beginning to find its way into cities, it may be awhile until they are available in residential neighborhoods en masse. For extended range I guess one could carry a fairly modest generator set in the trunk to avoid ever being stranded.
