Satellite altimeter data study finds global ship traffic up 4x over past 20 years

Ships powered by fossil fuels dump oil, fuel and waste into the water and pump exhaust into the air. In the Indian Ocean, where the world’s busiest shipping lanes are located, ship traffic grew by more than 300% over the 20-year period, according to the research.

The JV will be held 76% by KOEL—India’s largest manufacturer of diesel engines, both air-cooled and liquid cooled, covering a power range of 3 hp to 11,000 hp—and 24% by Axial Vector. Intake and exhaust valves open and close by a patent-pending method of rotating cam and trunions. Tier-III designs are in progress.
