The founder of the hugely popular Fully Charged YouTube channel, actor and EV enthusiast Robert Llewellyn, will arrive in Australia in mid-January to kick off an eight-week promotional campaign ahead of a live event in Sydney.
Llewellyn is hosting Australia’s first Fully Charged Live “festival of electrification” event at the Sydney International Convention Centre on March 11 and 12, supported by The Driven and RenewEconomy.
The show will feature live sessions across two stages, including presentations, panel discussions and opportunities to test drive a broad range of electric vehicles.
Llewellyn says the Fully Charged team is working with industry to bring together the widest selection of electric vehicles – ranging from bikes to boats, cars and commercial vehicles – ever displayed in one place in Australia.
In addition to the Fully Charged team, the show will feature local YouTubers Electric Viking, Engineering with Rosie, Ludicrous Feed, Electric Chris, Tesla in the Gong & Ryan Model Y.
Organisers expect a minimum of 10,000 attendees at the Australian live show, based on the success of similar events in the UK, southern California and the Netherlands.
“Since starting the Fully Charged Show in 2010, I’ve always wanted to do more Down Under. Not least as my wife and her family are from Queensland,” Llewellyn says.
“We have amassed 1 million YouTube subscribers and we can guarantee a large, highly engaged audience wherever we go.
“In fact, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane are three of our five top cities globally for viewers, and we know that there is a latent desire for cleaner energy and transport.”
In the lead-up to the live event, Llewellyn says he will use the time to produce around 20 Australian-themed episodes and podcasts of the Fully Charged Show and its sister channel the Everything Electric Show.
“We can’t wait to tell the Australian story on our channel, and to spread our unique brand of positive energy with the thousands of people that descend on the ICC in Sydney in March,” he says.
“The Australian economy has the potential to become an energy superpower, and we expect Fully Charged LIVE Australia will help to spark significant consumer interest.”
