We are launching our fourth contract in the EU, with an advanced reactor developer in Estonia, so it’s affirming to see that the US government is devoting resources to advanced reactor R&D that integrates borehole repositories as a spent fuel solution. The EPRI project brings Deep Isolation’s DOE grant projects this year to four.

UP Catalyst , an Estonia-based company developing a method to produce sustainable carbon nanomaterials and graphite from CO 2 ( earlier post ), says that it can produce carbon-negative graphite, consuming 3.7 million in grants and has expanded its customer base outside of the European borders.

The US patent and soon-to-be-granted EU patent gives the company protection for carbide-derived-carbons suitable for energy storage applications.
