GM is committed to reducing emissions throughout its manufacturing operations and supply chain, so it manages traditional solvents through recycling, conversion to energy and superheating the gases to break them down. Flame treatment of components has for years always been troublesome in a high-volume production environment.

Video: Chinese EV less than 5 lakhs | Lesson for Indian car makers The car is called the Wuling Mini EV made by two large Chinese car makers SAIC (the company that owns MG Motors), Wuling and the American Giant GM. I have no idea how GM got into this JV! But I would say this is the best pro EV move I have seen GM make.

for years, if ever, it would be the first plug-in to be commercially available—allowing BYD to steal a march on General Motors ( GM ), which is expecting to launch the Chevrolet Volt in 2010. WN : What about the argument that cars fueled by electricity from a coal-fired power plant ultimately are as polluting as cars using fossil fuels?

Right now the dock workers and the people who live near the ports are choking on the worst air pollution anywhere in the area. You’d think the batteries couldn’t even get you out of the driveway the way Rick Wagoner at GM keeps making excuses and dragging his feet. The batteries work just fine. Imagine that.
