BYD wins order for another 406 electric buses in Bogotá, Colombia

A joint venture between Colombian business group Fanalca and international public transport operator Transdev used BYD’s integrated E-bus solutions to bid and successfully won the tender. BYD will co-work with Superpolo, a Colombian bus manufacturer, on the body part of the buses for such order.

HIF Global, Porsche and Volkswagen Group unveil new direct air capture unit to be installed at eFuels plant in Chile in 2024

At the IAA Summit in Munich, HIF Global, together with Porsche AG, Volkswagen Group Innovation and MAN Energy Solutions, announced the development and installation of a Direct Air Capture (DAC) unit at the HIF Haru Oni Demonstration facility in southern Chile in 2024. MAN Energy Solutions provided the e-methanol reactor to the Haru Oni plant.

BYD lands contract for 35 electric buses at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Orders have been awarded in China, the Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Uruguay, North and South America. This allowed the company to start selling buses in the European markets.

Nations agree on global, legally binding treaty on mercury emissions: Minamata Convention on Mercury

At the conclusion of the International Negotiating Committee on Mercury ( INC5 ) meeting in Geneva ( earlier post ), nations agreed on a global, legally-binding treaty to prevent mercury emissions and releases. The international negotiators selected the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to fund implementation of the new Mercury Convention.
