Galvanic Energy receives prestigious Vanguard Award

Galvanic Energy has received the prestigious Vanguard Award for its focus on environmental stewardship. It was awarded in light of Galvanic’s commitments to American battery manufacturing required for electric vehicles (EV) and energy storage.

Awarded by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB), the award is presented to a person, institution, community, or business for embracing cutting-edge technologies and concepts in support of sustainability.

“It is a tremendous honour to receive this award, especially in light of what it represents and those who are past recipients,” stated Brent Wilson, Galvanic’s president and CEO.

“To be recognised for our incorporation of environmental stewardship into how we explore and develop energy resources is truly appreciated and humbling.”

Galvanic’s contributions to an environmentally friendly economy

Based in Oklahoma, Galvanic Energy is a geoscience-driven resource exploration company that employs innovative, proprietary discovery methods to identify natural resources that are essential to the US’ sustainable energy and EV industries.

The company’s biggest contribution to environmental stewardship is a significant lithium project in Arkansas, a neighbouring state. Strategically located in the south-central US, near newly built or planned EV and battery manufacturing plants, Galvanic’s lithium prospect has the potential to power more than 50 million EVs.

This could greatly reduce the US’ reliance on foreign supply chains, therefore reducing toxic emissions from required transport.

Lithium extraction methods that protect the environment

As part of its focus on environmental stewardship and social and governance operations, Galvanic has evaluated multiple direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology providers to determine which processes are best suited to developing a world-class lithium asset.

The incorporation of innovative, environmentally sensitive DLE technology dramatically reduces the environmental footprint of lithium sourcing when compared to current mining processes employed elsewhere.

“We have focused our operations on finding lithium resources that can be accessed with a nominal surface footprint, protecting and conserving nearby ground and surface water, and maintaining air quality among other things,” explained Wilson.

“By using innovative solutions, maintaining stringent ESG standards, and creating a sustainable domestic resource, we can significantly shorten the lithium battery supply chain and reduce the EV industry’s CO2 emissions.”

Galvanic’s lithium extraction processes contribute significantly to environmental stewardship by reducing carbon emissions, protecting natural reserves and ecosystems, and advancing the use of EVs over fossil fuel-powered vehicles.

According to a recent Galvanic report, titled ‘Galvanic’s lithium prospect among most prolific in North America,’ the company currently holds mineral leases that cover 120,000 acres. These contain around four million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE), within a lithium hotspot of the Smackover Formation.

With test wells yielding 290-520mg/L lithium within Galvanic’s top tier area and the prospect averaging 325mg/L lithium, this prospect is one of the most concentrated lithium brine reservoirs in North America.
