Okaya unveils electric 2W-AvionIQ & ClassIQ series ranging from Rs 39,999 to Rs 60,000

Okaya Power Group an Energy storage solutions provider announced its entry into the electric two-wheeler business with the launch of a range of vehicles. It has unveiled a new range of electric two-wheelers that are available in two variants AvionIQ series and ClassIQ series. The company’s electric vehicles are equipped with all the required cutting edge latest technology. Let us read further about Okaya unveils electric 2W. 

Okaya unveils electric 2W in two variants 

The electric two-wheelers will be priced from starting Rs 39,999 to Rs 60,000 and will be available all over India. The company’s ‘Electric 2Wheelers’ are available in four variants, both in ‘VRLA Lead Acid Battery’ and ‘Lithium Iron Phosphate’ (LFP) battery.

The company has already set up a two-wheeler manufacturing plant in Baddi (HP) and is planning to start another facility in Haryana. It has also announced three more plants to be launched in Neemrana (Rajasthan) by 2023-25, a release said. Okaya EV has also launched its experience centres in Delhi and Jaipur.

Anil Gupta, Managing Director, Okaya Power Group said that “Combined with two state-of-the-art research and development centres exclusively for ‘Electric Vehicles’ in India and one overseas, OKAYA EV is uniquely placed to bring out ‘Electric 2 Wheelers’ and bikes of future,”

“Further, to ensure seamless supply of these ‘Electric 2Wheelers’, we aim to open showrooms as well as distribution and service centres all across the country.”

Okaya bagged contract from state-run Energy Efficiency Services Limited

Last year, it has bagged a World Bank-funded contract from state-run Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) for the deployment of 1,020 electric vehicle charging stations across India. The company said in a statement that “OKAYA, a flagship company of Okaya Power Group, has bagged a major World Bank-funded contract from EESL.”

Okaya has grabbed the contract from the EESL to supply installation and commissioning of 1,020 multi-standard EV charging stations with CCS, CHAdeMO & Bharat specification protocol across India.

Partnered with Prakriti E-Mobility Private Limited

It has announced that it has made a partnership with India’s largest four-wheeler fleet operators Prakriti E-Mobility Private Limited to provide enough EV charging stations for their fleet operations. These EV chargers charge fast and are high energy density and low in weight. It provides noise and pollution free first and last-mile connectivity solutions.

400 EV charging stations in AP 

The State government decided to set up 400 charging stations in Andhra Pradesh. The government also wants to consider a proposal to study the real-time performance impact of electric two-wheelers to ward and village secretariat staff. It also aims to set up testing facilities for vehicles and components and intelligence testing tracks for electric vehicles with an investment of Rs 250 crore.

Major EV charger contract from state own PGCIL

The Okaya has bagged a major EV charger contract from the state own PGCIL (Power Grid Corporation of India Limited) which is an Indian state-owned Maharatna PSU of the Government of India. The PGCIL has given this contract to Okaya to supply, installation and commission over 55 Multi-Standard EV chargers (100 kW) as per CCS2/CHAdeMO Protocol, and 15 kW DC fast chargers as per DC-001 in Shillong, Meghalaya.

Okaya Power collaborated with CharIN E.V

Okaya Power has made an announcement that it has become a core member of the Charging Interface Initiative (CharIN E.V.) which is an open coalition of world-class firms within the electric vehicle (EV) industry. This moved is taken to support the Combined Charging System (CCS) as a global standard for EV charging which focuses on charging and promoting eco-friendly mobility in the country.

The Okaya has joined CharIN to contribute to the global electric mobility revolution as it is an expert in developing EV chargers that use the latest technology and communication standards. It includes the Combined Charging solution (CCS)- CharIN and CHAdeMO, a quick charging standard for electric vehicles.

Launched two-wheelers, three-wheelers & four-wheeler EV products

Okaya has launched its four-wheeler EV products range with all three types of the protocol being used worldwide-GB/T, CCS & CHAdeMO.  It has also launched the iCat-approved lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries for two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The company’s service network is available across the country with 400 trained engineers. It has also kept a toll free service number 24*7 for helping the customers.
