EIA: US ammonia prices rise in response to higher international natural gas prices; up by a factor of 6 in two years

US ammonia prices closely follow international ammonia prices because approximately 14% of total US ammonia consumption is met by imports. Because the global ammonia market is highly interconnected, the US price of ammonia closely follows international ammonia prices rather than only US natural gas prices.

Cargill partners with Kotug to launch first electric pusher tug and barge

Cargill has partnered with Kotug International to deploy Kotug’s zero emission E-Pusher Type M and E-Barges—the world’s first fully electric pusher boat and barges—to transport cocoa beans from the Port of Amsterdam, the largest cocoa import port in the world, to Cargill’s cocoa factory in Zaandam, the Netherlands.

Fraunhofer ISI/ICCT analysis of PHEV data finds real-world CO2 emissions 2-4x higher than official values

A new analysis of the real-world usage of more than 100,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles shows a large deviation between on-road CO 2 emissions and fuel efficiency and the official vehicle type-approval values. The researchers also took into account data on company cars that had been provided by fleet managers.

Deutsche Post DHL Group introduces Green Carrier Certification as part of its sustainability roadmap

As part of its sustainability roadmap, Deutsche Post DHL Group aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to below 29 million tons by 2030 and net-zero by 2050. Ground transport accounts for 21 per cent of the Group’s total CO 2 e emissions. The full worldwide rollout will follow in 2022.

Damen delivers hybrid tugboat to Royal Netherlands Navy; up to 30% lower fuel consumption, 40% fewer emissions

International shipyard group Damen recently delivered the first of a series of three hybrid tugboats (ASD TUGs 2810 Hybrid) to the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN). Compared with other tugs, hybrid versions use up to 30% less fuel and produce 40% fewer exhaust emissions. Currently, the RNLN has four conventional tugs in Den Helder.
