Tesla’s Gigafactory in Nevada is committed to manufacturing EV batteries using 100% solar energy by the end of 2019. When EV batteries degrade enough to be unsuitable for cars (about 70% capacity remaining), they are re-used for electricity storage. Audi’s e-Tron batteries are manufactured at a carbon-neutral facility.
