1st French-American EV Technology Forum

CALSTART will be supporting the 1st French American EV Technology Forum and One-on-One Meetings to be held in Long Beach, California on 8 December. The morning forum includes speakers from PSA Peugeot-Citroën; Nissan North America; Michelin; Johnson Controls-Saft; Dow Kokam; CEA; INRETS; IFP Nouvelles; and French automotive clusters. French electric vehicle participating companies providing One-on-One Meetings include:
- DBT: a manufacturer of level 2 and level 3 charging stations
- CEA: a French government-funded technological research organization the focus of which includes material, batteries, and fuel cells.
- DURR ECOCLEAN: a specialist in cleaning, filtration and automation systems.
- ENSTA PARISTECH: university training engineers with a comprehensive scientific knowledge.
- ESI GROUP: provider in virtual prototyping that takes into account the physics of materials. ESI has developed an extensive suite of coherent, industry-oriented applications to realistically simulate a product’s behavior during testing, to fine-tune manufacturing processes in accordance with desired product performance, and to evaluate the environment’s impact on performance.
- FABRICOM: is a worldwide provider of automated assembly solutions in the automotive field.
- FAM AUTOMOBILES: a company specialized in electric vehicle (2- and 4-wheel) conception and production. FAM Automobiles is also specialized in other automotive activities: design of new parts, chassis modification, engine improvement, product management for car manufacturers and importers. The company is involved at all stages, from the design to the distribution of parts / cars and assembling.

- INRETS. THE FRENCH NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR RESEARCH AND TRANSPORTATION SAFETY: is a French National Transportation Institute dedicated to research and development in the fields of safe mobility, both urban and rural, mass transit and private.
- IFP NEW ENERGIES: a public-sector research and training center, aimed at developing the technologies and materials of the future in fields of energy, transport and the environment.
- HUTCHINSON: is a partner of the world’s major automotive manufacturers, dealing with many major issues involving vehicle safety, reliability and comfort Hutchinson offers a complete array of components in its 4 fields of competence: Sealing, Fluid Transfer, Vibration and Acoustic Insulation, and Transmission. Hutchinson is developing electric energy storage system as ultracapacitor.
- MOV’EO CLUSTER: French competitiveness cluster focused on private cars and public transportation safe for man and for the environment.
- NUMERO DESIGN: The Numero Design team specializes in three areas of design: 3D Modeling, Color and Trim, and 3D imagery.
- POLYTECH’NANTES: was the first polytechnic engineering university in France. The school is working on the research and development of Li-ion batteries and aqueous supercapacitors. The studies tackle the issue of the direct application of these electrical storage devices, the regenerative braking and the extension of the cycle life of Li-ion batteries.
- PSA PEUGEOT-CITROËN: PSA Peugeot Citroën brings to market two automobile brands with innovative line-ups and clearly differentiated styles: Peugeot and Citroën.
- PVI: a French company specialized in designing, manufacturing, and marketing industrial vehicles and motorized chassis on a small scale production. PVI is a leading actor in the green alternative energies motorization on industrial vehicles (electric and natural gas) with a very specific focus on 100% electric vehicles.
- TORK ENGINEERING: is the engineering division of FAM automobiles, a designer and manufacturer of electric vehicles.
- VALEO: is a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier with CO2 emissions reduction as core strategy. We are developing and selling innovative technologies in the fields of powertrain, thermal management, visibility and driving assistance, all with a strong focus to make automotive cleaner and safer.
- VEHICULE DU FUTUR CLUSTER: French automotive cluster focusing on the design, manufacture, experimentation and deployment of light urban and peri-urban transport solutions.
- INVEST IN FRANCE AGENCY: promotes and facilitates international investment in France. The IFA network operates worldwide and works in partnership with agencies such as Ubifrance (the French Trade Commission).
