Simple One

Simple Energy launched its flagship e-scooter, Simple One, on 15th August 2021 at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom). The EV brand plans to expand to more than 75 cities in the next three to seven months. This will hopefully make Simple One do even better with various government grants.

Simple has decided to postpone the delivery of the Simple One e-scooter due to the recent electric vehicle fire and anticipates new guidelines and certifications. However, test drive camps will be held in 13 cities from July.

The Simple One has received an engine update that makes the scooter more powerful than ever. As if that wasn’t enough, Simple Energy also claims that the One has the longest range of any electric two-wheeler produced in India.

Simple One is a feature-rich product. It features full LED lighting, 30 liters of under-seat storage, replaceable batteries, a combined braking system, fast charging, and a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster. The TFT display provides OTA updates, geofencing, a tire pressure monitoring system, and vehicle tracking and can also store documents.

Simple Energy uses a 7kW (peak power) motor and the Simple One delivers 72Nm, best in class. This allows the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.85 seconds, making it the fastest (in theory) electric scooters launched in India.

Additionally, the Simple One gets a unique dual battery setup with a fixed battery and a 7 kg removable battery, bringing the total capacity to 4.8 kWh. The fixed battery can be charged to 80% in 2.75 hours, while the removable battery takes 75 minutes. The company claims the Simple One has a range of 236 km.

The Simple One’s foundation consists of a tubular underbone chassis suspended on a telescopic fork and monoshock. He has 90-section tires on 12-inch aluminum wheels. However, Simple Energy also offers a scooter with a combination of 100-piece front tires and 110-piece rear tires.

Braking power comes from his 200mm discs in the front and 190mm discs in the rear, thanks to CBS. Oh, and the brakes are also regenerative. The Simple One weighs 110kg and has a seat height of 775mm, which should make it fairly easy to ride for most people.

Simple One is priced at Rs. 1,09,999 to Rs. 1,44,999 in India. Simple One comes in two variations including Simple One STD. The top variant is the Simple One Extra Range which comes priced at Rs. 1.44.999.

Economy with 145 km of range on a single charge and Power with a reduced range of 110 km on a single charge. In just 4.2 seconds, you will be able to accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h.  All this power comes from a 4.56kWh battery, which takes 2.5 hours to go from 0 to 80%.

The front suspension is telescopic and the rear suspension is a hydraulic double tube. The front wheel braking system is disc type and the rear wheel has a classic drum braking system. This variation of the TVS iQube is equipped with a 17.78 cm touchscreen. Another feature worth mentioning is the Parking Assist feature that reverses the scooter with the push of a button. A reasonable price for the TVS iQube ST is around 1,25,000, considering the characteristics of this scooter. Pre-booking for this scooter has been closed as the requested limit has been reached.
