End of an era: Mitsubishi likely to stop making the i-MiEV electric car

What was the first mass-produced electric vehicle, after the GM EV1? The Mitsubishi i-MiEV was, by many assessments, a pioneer as a dedicated electric vehicle. No, it’s not the Nissan Leaf. It was intended to be mass-produced, not a simple conversion, and widely available (at least in some markets).

Mitsubishi to produce Minicab-MiEV in Indonesia in 2024; first local production of the vehicle outside Japan

Mitsubishi Motors will begin production of the Minicab-MiEV, a onebox kei–car-class commercial electric vehicle (EV), at PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia (MMKI), MMC’s factory in Indonesia. The Minicab-MiEV, which will be produced overseas for the first time, is equipped with an EV system proven in the i-MiEV.

Mitsubishi Motors to supply 96 Outlander PHEVs and i-MiEVs to government of Georgia

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will supply the Government of Georgia with 45 Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid EVs and 51 i-MiEV all-electric vehicles. The vehicles are due to be delivered in January 2018. The supply of vehicles stems from an Overseas Development Agreement between the governments of Japan and Georgia.
