The Electric Auto Association and Colorado-based Clean Energy Credit Union have partnered on a new member benefit. If you have recently been eyeing a greener ride or thought about reducing your winter home heating bill with improved windows or additional insulation -- now may be the time to consider making such a move.

By joining forces for members to benefit from some of the lowest interest rate loans in recent times, they can borrow funds for purchases of an electric vehicle, hybrid vehicle, solar photovoltaic, or electric energy storage. E-bikes are also included. Such projects extend to beyond auto and solar purchases and can include residential insulation or window upgrade installations as well. The ability to get competitive interest rates for renewable and sustainable projects can make a good deal just so much better.

Clean Energy Credit Union is a unique, innovative, federally chartered credit union (aka not-for-profit, financial services cooperative) that is online only and that focuses exclusively on providing loans for clean energy and energy-saving projects such as:

  • electric vehicles

  • electric bicycles

  • residential solar electric systems

  • residential geothermal systems

  • other green home improvements

Clean Energy Credit Union was started by a group of “clean energy geeks” who are passionate about clean energy and the environment. It is based in Colorado, but it serves members who live throughout the entire USA. Credit unions are not governed by the same rules as large commercial banks are thereby enabling them to offer competitive terms for green projects.
