The conversion of soybean oil to green diesel was carried out on Pt/SAPO-11-Al 2 O 3 catalyst in a trickle-bed reactor. Steady-state operation was reached after about 150 h.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and the California Energy Commission today unveiled a utility-scale sodium-sulfur battery energy storage system ( earlier post ) pilot project to better balance power needs of the electric grid. The system has a 4 megawatt capacity, and can store more than six hours of energy. The Yerba Buena Battery Energy Storage System Pilot Project charges batteries when demand is low and then sends reserved power to the grid when demand grows.

Report: Toyota to boost Li-ion production for hybrids to more than 200K packs per year
