UK-based Electrofit introduced its first electric crate motor, the 100 kW CM100KW1, with a launch offer of £5,250 (US$5,800) + VAT. This compact Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) unit is a permanent synchronous magnet motor with a built-in inverter that significantly reduces cost (with a typical inverter costing around £3,000) and complexity of integration.

A pop-up hotel powered entirely by EVs has opened in the United Kingdom. It's called Hotel Hyundai, and it helps demonstrate the vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability the automaker is building into its vehicles. Two new Tesla Cybertruck builds were spotted under wraps at Giga Texas by a drone operator. Tesla is working toward the initial production phases of the Cybertruck at Giga Texas after several production delays. The Cybertruck is set to begin production in mid-2023 , Tesla said earlier this year. The Cybertruck was unveiled in late 2019 and has been under development since then.

Moog has collaborated with Komatsu to build a fully electric compact wheel loader machine. The companies will demonstrate the connected and automation-ready, zero-emission, battery-powered machine at bauma 2022 from 24-30 October at Messe München. Moog’s intelligent machine electrification system includes an electric traction motor, lift, tilt and steering electric cylinders, power electronics, system control computer, battery, and battery management system.

Rivian is recalling its R1T and R1S electric trucks, as well as its EDV electric vans, over a potentially loose fastener that might lead to a loss of control. The California-based automaker emphasizes that the issue is rare and has only been observed in seven vehicles, but the recall effort involves nearly all the electric trucks the EV maker has.

The top 10 global producers of Li-ion batteries for electric vehicles are all Asian companies, according to an analysis posted on the Visual Capitalist. Chinese companies make up 56% of the EV battery market, followed by Korean companies (26%) and Japanese manufacturers (10%). China-based CATL, the world’s top supplier, expanded its market share from 32% in 2021 to 34% in 2022.

Foxconn recently signed a memorandum of understanding with IndiEV to build initial versions of the startup's One EV at its Ohio factory, while also showing two more EVs of its own. Under the agreement, Foxconn will manufacture "the first Indi One prototype vehicles" at its factory in Lordstown, Ohio, according to a company press release. It's one.

NASA and a SpaceX customer have announced plans to launch two unrelated Moon missions days apart next month. On October 12th, NASA confirmed that it will roll its Space Launch System (SLS) rocket out to its Kennedy Space Center LC-39A pad for the fourth time as early as November 4th. Barring surprises, the rocket’s next launch attempt is scheduled no earlier than (NET) 12:07 am EDT (17:07 UTC), November 14th.

Alpine, the exclusive sports car brand of the Renault Group, has unveiled the Alpenglow concept as a showcase for a clean emissions future that is within reach for tomorrow’s racing cars and future Alpine vehicle generations. Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis will add over-the-air (OTA) software updates by 2025, Hyundai announced Wednesday. The first model to feature firmware-level OTA updates will be the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6, which is based on the same E-GMP platform as the Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Genesis GV60. By 2025, Hyundai expects all models—including both gasoline.
