All-electric Fiat E-Ducato van: Price and specs revealed

The FIat E-Ducato all-electric van will get a list price of £47,675 when it arrives in the UK later in the year.

It’ll be going head-to-head with the Mercedes-Benz e-Sprinter and a choice of two battery options will provide either 99 miles or 192 miles of range.

Kickstarting the Italian brand’s foray into 100% electric vehicles, the large E-Ducato will be congestion charge and ULEZ-exempt, making it the perfect tool for businesses in inner city and urban environments.

It’ll be available as either a panel van, chassis cab or a passenger van. The panel van is available in two difference heights: 568mm and 2,814mm.

Customers will also be able to choose between three lengths and four different wheelbases on the chassis cab models, ensuring it’ll suit the needs of a vast majority of van drivers.

Standard equipment includes a 5in touchscreen with DAB and Bluetooth, automatic climate control, tablet holder, a USB charging port and electric heated mirrors.

Two batteries are available; a 47kWh unit provides up to 120 miles of range depending on the size of van, while a 79kWh battery ups this to 192 miles. Both feature an electric motor that produces up to 122hp and 280Nm of torque.

The battery packs do not impede on the van’s versatility, with it receiving a best-in-class payload of up to 1,950kg and exactly the same interior volumes as diesel-powered Ducatos.

A regenerative braking system maximises range, while three driving modes give the driver the ability to increase range or performance depending on the situation.

UK order books are open now, with the first E-Ducato deliveries expected to commence in the final quarter of the year.
