An electric school bus in Beverly, Massachusetts, successfully delivered power back to the electricity grid for more than 50 hours over the course of the summer using vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology. This is the first time an electric school bus has been leveraged as an energy resource by the regional utility National Grid in New England and among the first instances in the United States that an electric school bus has supported the electric grid in this way.

Colorado-based Solid Power, the solid-state battery firm backed by Ford and BMW, claims that third-party safety tests show its battery tech to be safer than current lithium-ion chemistry. The tests, with results released Wednesday, aimed simulate abuse and damage to its prototype solid-state battery cells. Those cells use a sulfide-based solid.

Recently, Elon Musk reaffirmed that Tesla owners will have WiFi access at Superchargers. The EV maker is expected to open its Supercharger Network to non-Tesla electric vehicles soon. It would then be an excellent time for the company to upgrade its Supercharger stations with WiFi for incoming drivers.
