Government of Canada investing nearly $15M in new EV chargers across the GTA

The Government of Canada announced federal investments totalling nearly $15 million (US$11.2 million) for the installation of more than 2,350 EV chargers, 2,100 of which will be installed across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This funding was provided to 32 organizations, including municipalities, multi-resident buildings (MURBs), private firms and utilities.

Volvo Cars reported global sales of 48,520 in January, up 2% compared to the same month last year. Sales of Volvo Cars´ Recharge models of fully electric and plug-in hybrid cars increased by 31% in January year-on-year, accounting for 40.7% of all Volvo cars sold globally during the month. The share of fully electric cars stood at 16.2%. European sales for January reached 21,436 cars, up 14.7% compared with the same period last year.

Open pit lithium mining operations commence at Liontown’s Kathleen Valley project

Tesla increases Model Y, cuts Model 3 prices in the U.S.

Tesla has increased prices on its Model Y all-electric crossover and cut prices on the Model 3 sedan. Tesla’s Model Y Long Range increased $1,500 from $53,490 to $54,990 last night, while Model Y Performance trims went up $1,000 from $56,990 to $57,990. Model 3 Rear-Wheel-Drive vehicles also felt a slight cut by just $500, going from $43,990 to $43,490.
