Hyundai delivers first 2019 NEXO fuel cell SUV to US customer

Hyundai delivered its first NEXO fuel cell SUV ( earlier post ) to Tom Hochrad of Ventura, California—the first US customer to drive off in the new NEXO, the only mass-produced fuel cell SUV for the US market, featuring a range up to 380 miles. Hochrad purchased his first hybrid car more than 15 years ago, and over the years has driven dedicated electric vehicles as well.

Pickup drivers target Tesla Superchargers in "ICEing" incidents

In a spate of incidents reminiscent of "rolling coal," truck drivers have begun seemingly intentionally blocking whole banks of Tesla Superchargers across parts of the South. Photos shared across Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit over the weekend showed all kinds of trucks blocking.

Kyoto University team proposes selective dismantling to increase recycling potential of precious metals from end-of-life vehicles

Researchers at Kyoto University in Japan are proposing the selective dismantling of certain components from end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) to increase the recycling potential of precious metals (PMs). In a paper in the ACS journal Environmental Science & Technology , they report that, in Japan, totals of 33–53% of PMs in ELVs were recycled in 2015, and that by selective dismantling of printed wiring boards (PWBs) and heating wires in the rear windows of ELVs, the recycling potentials of PMs could b
