American electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive announced this week that it produced 9,395 vehicles and delivered 7,946 during the first quarter of 2023.
Rivian, maker of the R1T pickup truck/ute, R1S SUV, and Rivian EDV delivery vans, announced its Q1 production and delivery numbers earlier this week, with production results in line with the company’s expectations.
According to the results, Rivian remains on track to deliver on the 50,000 annual production guidance it had previously provided.
“This is a great start to the year, and we remain on track to hit our annual production guidance previously provided. I’d like to thank the team for all their hard work as we continue to ramp,” said Frank Klein, Rivian’s chief operations officer.
“We’re looking forward to taking this momentum forward as we hit the ground running in Q2.”
Klein also explained that its “R1 platform continues to exhibit quarter-over-quarter production growth as we work to get customers their vehicles.”
Rivian has also made further progress on integrating its new in-house ‘Enduro’ drive unit into the EDVs. This means launch and ramp of production is on time and in line with expectations.
Designed from the ground up by Rivian to be used specifically with its vehicles, the Enduro drive provides a reduction in cost while also delivering improvements in vehicle efficiency.
