Canadian Nuclear Laboratories seeks input on small modular reactor technology

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) has begun a discussion around Small Modular Reactor (SMRs) technology in Canada, and the role that Canadian Nuclear Laboratories can play in bringing this technology to market, by launching a Request for Expressions of Interest on SMRs. We intend to begin the generic site selection and licensing process for the first demonstration or prototype reactor later this year.

UCLA, ARB, WVU measure on-road particle numbers for heavy-duty diesel and CNG trucks in California

In a new study, a team from UCLA, with colleagues from the California Air Resources Board (ARB) and West Virginia University, measured total particle number emission factors (PNEFs) from six newly certified heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) powered by diesel and CNG totaling over 6,800 miles of on-road operation in California. They calculated distance-, fuel- and work-based PNEFs for each vehicle.

Nissan Chile delivers fleet of 25 LEAFs to Enel, the country’s largest electricity group

Nissan Chile delivered a fleet of 25 LEAF electric vehicles to employees of Enel, Chile’s largest electricity group in terms of installed capacity. The initiative is part of the first electric vehicle sales program exclusively for fleet customers in Chile. As part of its sustainability policy, Enel offered its employees a subsidy for the purchase of an electric car.
