The company already has more than 25 model variants available, with two battery sizes—40 kWh and 55 kWh—offering range of up to more than 200 km (124 miles). Andreas Scheuer, German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, announced the award of around €50 million (US$58 million) in funding for 31 municipal electric mobility projects under the “Clean Air 2017-2020 emergency program”. The Swiss company ecovolta is building a fully automated Li-Ion battery pack assembly plant in Schwyz with an annual capacity of 200 MWh. This will make it one of the largest such plants in Europe after its launch in September 2018.
