Penn State, EC Power use internal thermal modulation to enable stable fast charging

A team from Penn State University and start-up EC Power has developed a material-agnostic technology based on asymmetric temperature modulation with a thermally stable dual-salt electrolyte to achieve stable fast charging for Li-ion batteries. In a paper in Nature , the team reports charging of a 265?Wh?kg ?1 battery to 75% (or 70%) state of charge in 12 (or 11) minutes for more than 900 (or 2,000) cycles.

Vikingbus orders 31 Mercedes-Benz eCitaro electric buses; long trip requirements

The Danish bus company Vikingbus has ordered 31 Mercedes-Benz eCitaro all-electric vehicles. In future, they will mainly be used in Køge, a harbor town south of the Danish capital Copenhagen in the east of the island of Sj?lland. The regular service also includes trips to the municipality of Stevn, which is further south. This is the longest city bus line in Denmark, resulting in some trips longer than 500 kilometers a day—very rare for a city bus.

Cracow orders 18 articulated Solaris electric buses, bringing e-bus fleet to 114

Solaris won a tender held by public transport operator Miejskie Przedsi?biorstwo Komunikacyjne (MPK) in Cracow for the delivery of electric buses. At the end of October the carrier signed a contract with the manufacturer for the delivery of 18 articulated electric vehicles. The contract is worth more than PLN 98 million (US$20.6 million). The contract includes an option to order an additional three Urbino 18 electric units.
