On September 7th, Tesla’s charging pile production project in China was completed. The project was officially completed on August 20th.

According to the environmental impact assessment report, the Tesla charging pile project officially started construction on January 20 this year, with a construction area of nearly 10,000 square meters. After the project is completed, it will have 5 semi-automatic assembly lines and an annual output of 10,000 super charging piles. .

According to the plan, Tesla’s Shanghai super charging pile factory plans to invest about 42 million yuan, integrating R&D and production. After a major project adjustment, involving 17.8 million yuan of funds, including 150,000 yuan of environmental protection investment, the construction period is 3 months. In addition, the production line of the charging pile junction box that was originally planned to be outsourced will be produced by itself, and the amount of some raw and auxiliary materials and the amount in the warehouse will be adjusted. Added battery flipping wires, etc.

Tesla charging pile

It is understood that the main product of the Shanghai super charging pile factory is Tesla’s third-generation super charging pile (V3), which is currently Tesla’s most advanced charging pile equipment, with a maximum charging power of up to 250KW, taking Model 3 as an example , Some models can add up to about 250km of cruising range after charging for 15 minutes under the peak power state.

Based on the previous Tesla super charging piles imported from the United States, the completion of the super charging pile production project is bound to accelerate the popularization of V3 super charging piles in the Chinese market, and will also further enhance the layout and cooperation of Tesla’s super charging network. coverage density.

According to the data released by Tesla, Tesla currently has more than 900 super charging stations open to use in mainland China, and more than 7000 super charging piles, with 700+ destination charging stations and 1730+ destination charging piles. SLA charging network has covered more than 330 cities in China.

It should be pointed out that, unlike other brands, Tesla’s charging network is only allowed to be used by Tesla vehicles. However, with the interconnection of the national charging network, Tesla, which is also a national standard charging socket, does not rule out the possibility of opening charging piles to other brands of electric vehicles in the future.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that other brands of car companies will be allowed to use Tesla super charging piles, but there is no clear timetable yet. Tesla’s concern is that the premise of opening charging piles is that cars using Tesla charging piles must pass Tesla’s technical verification to ensure a safe and good charging experience.
