HJM has introduced a line of two Toury electric fat tire bikes — a traditional and a step-through model — that offer discerning riders a unique all-terrain riding experience. Each comes equipped with 26×4-inch fat tires from CST that are puncture resistant yet offer superb traction on any surface, from sidewalks and bike paths to snow, sand, gravel, or dirt.
The foundation of any bicycle is its frame. All HJM all-terrain electric bikes have frames made from 6061 aircraft quality aluminum tubing for superior strength and lightweight. The Tourys come with a Shimano 7-speed gear shift mechanism, a 750 W geared electric hub motor, an LG 48 volt 14 Ah battery that is good for about 45 miles of riding, and twin TEKTRO mechanical disc brakes for sure stops under any conditions.
The good news doesn’t end there. There is a full-color dustproof and waterproof display to keep track of your journey and the status of your battery. Extra-wide pedals provide superior grip. A comfortable Velo saddle means riders can go for hours without fatigue and, of course, the seat height and handlebar position are fully adjustable to meet the needs of every rider.
Every Toury comes with an integrated bell, high and low beam headlight, a progressive brake light, and turn signals. There is also a fully adjustable kickstand to hold the bikes upright under all conditions.
A KMC rust-proof chain is included as well as thick, 12G spokes that will stand up to all riding conditions, which is one of the reasons the manufacturer can offer a full two-year warranty on its bikes.
The HJM Toury all terrain electric bikes have five levels of assistance so riders can decide how much help they need from the battery and electric motor. When attacking a steep uphill climb, full assistance may be preferred, but going downhill or on level ground, less help may be needed. Riders can select the level of assistance they prefer using the simple handlebar-mounted controls.
There are also three modes available from full assistance to no assistance when the owner prefers. In between, there is a half throttle that provides some help from the motor, but lets the rider supply part of the power as well.
