Nissan unveils IMx fully autonomous electric crossover concept at Tokyo show

At the Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan unveiled the Nissan IMx, an all-electric crossover concept vehicle offering fully autonomous operation and a driving range of more than 600 kilometers (373 miles). The IMx is propelled by a pair of high-output electric motors at the front and rear, giving it all-wheel-drive capability. They combine to produce 320 kW of power and 700 N·m of torque, sourced from a high-capacity battery which has been redesigned and re-engineered for increased energy density.

ABB wins $20M order from HESS for e-bus flash-charging technology

A new study by a team from Brazil, with colleagues in the US, has shown that particulate pollution biomass burning in the Amazon induced inflammation, oxidative stress and severe DNA damage in human lung cells. After 72 hours of exposure, more than 30% of the cultured cells are dead, the researchers found. The main culprit appears to be retene, a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH).

Renault to exit Formula E at the end of Season 4

An inaugural partner in Formula E, Renault e.dams clinched its third consecutive FE Teams’ title in Montreal at the end of July 2017 and will soon begin Season 4. MFTBC also unveiled the E-FUSO brand, which will be exclusively dedicated to electric mobility of trucks and buses. As further proof of this strategic move, MFTBC also unveiled an all-electric heavy-duty truck concept with a range of up to 350 kilometers (217 miles).
