Caelus Energy Alaska, LLC, a privately held independent exploration and production company, announced that its subsidiary, Caelus Energy Alaska Smith Bay LLC, has made a significant light oil discovery on its Smith Bay state leases on the North Slope of Alaska. Based on two wells drilled in early 2016, as well as 126 square miles of existing 3D seismic, Caelus estimates the oil in place under the current leasehold to be 6 billion barrels.

In support of National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day, Air Liquide launched www.letscleartheair.com and collaborated with the California Fuel Cell Partnership (CaFCP) to create a hydrogen infrastructure app. October 8 was designated National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day based on the atomic weight of hydrogen: October 8 = 10.08 = 1.008 = Atomic Weight of Hydrogen.

According to a forecast by Navigant Research, global sales of light duty stop-start vehicles (SSVs) will exceed 61 million by 2025, accounting for 59% of all light duty vehicle sales. Of these, about 15% will feature 48V components. SSV sales are led by Western Europe, which is expected to have about 65% of new car sales including this feature in 2016, growing to 75% in 2020.
