The city of Moscow, Russia is halting the purchase of diesel buses for its passenger transport fleet. Starting this year, by the decision of the Mayor of Moscow, we will not buy diesel buses, except for transportation in a special mode. Only electric buses. We will also install about 200 electric charging spots a year for the development of personal electric transport.

General Motors has agreed to form a strategic investment and commercial collaboration with Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR) to secure sustainably produced lithium from the CTR’s Hell’s Kitchen Lithium and Power development, located in the Salton Sea Geothermal Field in California. This lithium will be produced from geothermal brine through a closed-loop, direct lithium extraction (DLE) process that results in a smaller physical footprint, no production tailing and lower carbon dioxide emission

Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility’s fleet of XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks has collectively exceeded 1 million kilometers of driving in 11 months of service in Switzerland. Waste tires have been used mainly for recovering energy sources; only small proportions of the carbon black contained in these tires are recycled, since mineral ash accounts for around 20% of its content. A new process developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP is able to isolate almost all of this ash—allowing both the carbon black and the minerals from the ash to be reused.

Tesla released its second quarter vehicles production and delivery report, revealing that the company managed to me et Wall Street’s estimates. Tesla reported that it produced a total of 206,421 vehicles in Q2 2021, while delivering a total of 201,250 cars comprised of 199,360 Model 3 and Model Y and 1,890 Model S. In the first quarter , Tesla produced 180,338 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.

Porsche is making further efforts to reduce CO? emissions in its supply chain: the sports car manufacturer is calling for its around 1,300 series suppliers to use exclusively renewable energy in the manufacture of Porsche components as of July 2021. It applies to any contracts awarded for providing production material for new vehicle projects. Suppliers who are unwilling to switch to certified green energy will no longer be considered for contracts with Porsche in the long term.

Proman has finalized an agreement to build two additional 49,900 dwt methanol dual-fuel MR tankers, bringing its total investment in methanol-powered vessels to six newbuildings. Proman will be the sole owner of the Provident and Progressive , alongside the Promise which is due to be delivered in Q3 2022. These vessels join Proman’s expanding fleet, including its three jointly-owned methanol dual-fuel tankers with JV partners Stena Bulk.

Nissan unveiled Nissan EV36Zero, a £1-billion flagship Electric Vehicle (EV) Hub —an EV manufacturing ecosystem—centered around its plant in Sunderland, UK. The project has been launched with an initial £1-billion (US$1.4-billion) investment by Nissan and its partners battery-maker Envision AESC and Sunderland City Council. The next iteration, hopefully the production version, of Tesla’s Cybertruck should prove to be quite different from the prototype. Norway’s Road and Traffic Information Council (OFV) reported that zero-emission cars made up more than half of new passenger cars in the country. The Tesla Model 3 was the most registered vehicle in the same month. According to OFV statistics , 3,197 Tesla vehicles were registered in June, and 3,196 of those cars were Tesla Model 3s. Out of the nearly 3,200 Tesla Model 3 vehicles registered in June, only 1,137 were Standard Range Plus versions.
