First vessel with Wärtsilä HY hybrid technology now in operation

The technology group Wärtsilä’s hybrid power module solution, the Wärtsilä HY, is now fully operational on the Vilja , an escort tug owned by the Swedish port of Luleå. The tug was built at Gondan Shipbuilders in Asturias, Spain and was delivered in the end of June 2019 following successful completion of the commissioning and sea trials. The Vilja, an escort tug operated by the Port of Luleå in Sweden, is the first vessel of its kind operating with the Wärtsilä HY hybrid power module.

Volkswagen inaugurates “We Campus” in Berlin; new added value and mobility services

Volkswagen inaugurated its “We Campus” in Berlin. The new “We Campus” will bring together about 900 experts from Volkswagen and its technology partners who have previously worked at different locations. In future, they will develop new added value and mobility services which will be offered within the “Volkswagen We” ecosystem. EPA proposes renewable fuel volume obligations for 2020

US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler issued a proposed rule under the Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS) program that would set the minimum amount of renewable fuels that must be supplied to the market in calendar year 2020, as well as the biomass-based diesel volume standard for calendar year 2021. Under the proposal, conventional renewable fuel volumes, primarily met by corn ethanol, would be maintained at the implied 15-billion gallon target set by Congress.
