Audi sets new first half sales record in China

Audi increased its unit sales in China and Hong Kong in the first half of the year by 37.8% to 193,871 automobiles, achieving new record results. In June, the company increased its unit sales by 20.4% year-on-year to 33,309 automobiles.

This success in the first half of the year was due in particular to the models produced in Changchun, with sales of 157,441 units and growth of 38.8%. The locally produced SUV, the Audi Q5, actually achieved growth of 86.7% to 43,150 unit sales, confirming its position as the market leader in its segment. Sales of the A4 L increased to 51,131 units (+42.9%).

Sales of imported cars (excluding Hong Kong) grew by 36.2% to 35,062 units. The Audi A8 L achieved sales of 8,761 units or plus 83.2% compared with the prior-year period.

At the end of July, the Audi Q3 will debut in the Chinese market as an import vehicle.
