Volta Trucks has received European Whole Vehicle Type Approval for its 16-tonne all-electric Volta Zero truck. ( Earlier post.) The European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA) certification allows Volta Trucks to produce and sell the all-electric Volta Zero in volume. Hertz this week announced plans to nearly triple its EV rental fleet in the heart of America's oil industry. United States Steel Corporation and CarbonFree Chemicals Holdings, LLC (CarbonFree) recently signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) jointly to pursue the capture of CO 2 emissions generated from US Steel’s Gary Works manufacturing plant using CarbonFree’s SkyCycle technology. If a definitive agreement is reached, the project is expected to capture and mineralize up to 50,000 metric tons of CO 2 per year, the equivalent to carbon emissions from nearly 11,000 passenger cars.

Researchers from Nanchang Hangkong University in China have developed a direct electro-oxidation method for lithium leaching from spent ternary lithium-ion batteries (T-LIBs) (Li 0.8 Ni 0.6 Co 0.2 Mn 0.2 O 2 ).
