Four engine variants of updated Audi A5 to be equipped with 12V and 48V mild hybrid systems

Audi is updating the A5 sedan. At market introduction, four A5 engine variants will be equipped with a mild hybrid system (MHEV). A belt alternator starter, which is connected to the crankshaft, recovers energy during deceleration and stores this in a compact lithium-ion battery. Audi A5 Coupé.

Porsche increases stake in electric sports car company Rimac to 15.5%

Porsche has increased its stake in technology and sports car company Rimac Automobili to 15.5%. In June 2018, the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer purchased a 10% stake in Rimac. Porsche is now strengthening the established partnership. The Croatian company develops and produces electromobility components and also produces electrically powered super sports cars in-house. Porsche initiated a development partnership with Rimac against the back-drop of its electric mobility campaign.

Plus.ai, FAW Jiefang form JV to develop self-driving trucks for China; first production-class L2 semi-autonomous truck

Silicon Valley-based Plus.ai has formed a joint venture with FAW Jiefang, China’s oldest and largest truck manufacturer, to develop autonomous trucks for China. specializes in developing full-stack self-driving technology to enable large scale autonomous commercial fleets. The exclusive partnership is also launching its first product, the first production-class L2 semi-autonomous truck, which is built on Plus.ai’s s L4 autonomous technology stack.
