Canada investing $2M in $5.1M project to develop energy-efficient comminution technology for mining: conjugate-anvil-hammer mill (CAHM)

Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources Amarjeet Sohi announced a $2-million investment in a $5.1-million Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC) initiative to develop an energy-efficient mining technology that could significantly reduce energy consumption at mine sites, cut costs and make remote mining operations more productive. Crushing and grinding rocks into smaller pieces (comminution) is the most energy-consuming activity in a mining operation.

AAA Foundation study: red light running deaths hit 10-year high

More than two people are killed every day on US roads by drivers running through red lights, according to data analysis performed by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. The most recent crash data available shows 939 people were killed in red light running crashes in 2017—a 10-year high and a 28% increase since 2012.
