Nio's second sedan, the ET5, will gradually become available in showrooms starting in early September, when the vehicle's interior will be officially opened to consumers, according to a report today by leading local automotive outlet Yiche.

Nio is expected to begin allowing consumers to lock in their orders at that time, the report said.

Notably, in a July 20 report, Yiche said the interior of the Nio ET5 could be officially unveiled during the Chengdu Motor Show 2022 event, where consumers will be able to experience it for themselves.

Chengdu Motor Show 2022 will take place from August 26 to September 4 in Chengdu, Sichuan province, southwest China.

If Yiche's latest report is reliable, it means that Nio is still optimizing the ET5's interior and visitors to the Chengdu Motor Show will still not be able to get inside the car to experience it.

Nio unveiled the ET5, the company's fifth model and its second sedan after the ET7, at the Nio Day 2021 event on December 18, 2021.

The Nio ET5 was available for pre-order at the time of the announcement and deliveries will begin in September 2022, but an expected first delivery date was announced.

Nio previously only released the exterior of the model, as well as a rendering of the interior. The Nio ET5 was displayed at the Auto Shenzhen 2022 event in late May, but the production version's interior has not yet been announced.
