This post briefly outlines the complexity of this issue and presents some recent data. I must emphasize up front that no attempt will be made to offer any causal conclusions. This is the case because many other variables influence the amount of driving.

Consumers who are planning to purchase an electric car have different priorities than current EV owners, according to a recent Plug In America study (via Charged EVs). Results from 8,000 United States respondents including both current EV owners and EV "intenders," defined as those that do not currently own an EV but plan on acquiring one within.

Lithium-sulfur batteries are prospects for future batteries as they are made from cheaper and more environmentally friendly materials than lithium-ion batteries. They also have higher energy storage capacity and work well at much lower temperatures. However, they suffer from short lifetimes and energy loss. A research group from Uppsala University has now identified the processes that are limiting the performance of the sulfur electrodes that in turn reduces the current that can be delivered.

Aemetis signed an offtake agreement has been signed with oneworld Alliance airline member Finnair for 17.5 million gallons of blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to be delivered over the 7-year term of the agreement. The value of the contract including incentives is approximately $70 million. Sichuan Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited, or CATL-SC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL, had its facility certified as the first Zero-carbon factory in the new energy industry late last week.
