Maven Gig drivers have taken trips from San Francisco to Portland (~635 miles) and from San Diego to Los Angeles (~120 miles). Interested drivers can download the Maven app for Apple in the App Store and for Android in the Google Play Store. On average, Maven Gig members in Bolt EVs drive more than half the vehicle range every day.

MyFord Mobile is available on Ford’s plug-in (PHEV) and battery-electric (BEV) vehicles, Fusion Energi, C-MAX Energi and Focus Electric, and is available for download both through the App Store and Google Play. About 180,000 charge stations are located daily through MyFord Mobile. Noon to 2 p.m.

Supported cities currently are Portland and Eugene, OR and Salt Lake City, UT, offering more than 2.000 traffic lights. The app uses the BMW Group’s A4A (Apps for Automotive) technology and can be downloaded for iOS-based devices from the Apple App Store. More cities will follow.

The startup Artly uses AI in its barista bots, Jarvis and Amanda, which serve coffee at several locations across North America (it makes a solid cappuccino—even by the scrupulous standards of Portland, Oregon’s coffee culture). I feel very fortunate in that the company I work for (HP) has a subscription to IEEE Xplore, so I downloaded literally a hundred scientific papers today on battery management and state-of-charge measurement of lead-acid cells. The non-linear dynamic nature of the battery makes accurate SOC measurements difficult, if not impossible.

Together with Google Pay, TriMet and INIT, the Daimler subsidiary moovel North America developed an innovative app that allows transit riders in the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan region to tap-and-pay for their ride with Android devices. The Hop Fastpass app for virtual cards is available for download through the Google Play store.
