Chrysler LLC and A123Systems have signed an agreement stating that A123Systems will supply Nanophosphate lithium-ion prismatic cells, and jointly developed battery modules and packs, for Chrysler’s first-generation ENVI Range-extended Electric Vehicles and battery-only Electric Vehicles. Earlier this month, we brought you a story regarding Fiat and Chrsyler and the demise of Chrysler's electric vehicle group ENVI. The two companies are still actively working on electric vehicle technology, but Chrysler's promising Dodge Circuit EV and additional electric vehicles will probably disappear forever.

Already this year, Chrysler had turned to A123Systems to provide batteries for its ENVI line-up of electric and plug-in vehicles which included the Dodge and Chrysler Minivan as well as the Jeep Patriot, Jeep Wrangler, 200C and the Dodge Circuit.
