For even more space, the second row folds flat producing plenty of room for a run to the DIY store or maybe some antiquing. This is respectable fuel economy for an AWD, 4,400-pound, six-passenger crossover. The limited storage behind the raised third row becomes a very useful space when that row is dropped. Smooth yet grippy.

The EPA rated the Santa Cruz’ fuel economy at 19 mpg city/27 highway/22 combined. Being able to fit four full-size adults in the cabin makes it ideal for making it your camping or other outdoor adventure vehicle, or those quick runs to the DIY store. The payload and towing numbers are more than adequate.

The EPA has rated fuel economy at 23 mpg city/30 highway/26 combined. The Maverick EcoBoost was not designed to be a heavy-duty work truck, but more for the weekend warrior/home owner doing DIY projects or used for active lifestyles for activities such as biking and kayaking. The EcoBoost was good for a 6.2 second 0-60 mph time.

Fuel Economy King in a Not-So-Small Pickup. This compact pickup is smaller than the mid- and full-size trucks roaming our streets, but size alone doesn’t explain how it sips fuel. The EPA has rated the Maverick Hybrid’s fuel economy at 42 mpg city/33 highway and 37 combined. A smaller, but not small pickup.
