Volvo will supply 20 heavy-duty electric trucks to Amazon in Germany

Volvo Trucks will deliver fully electric heavy-duty trucks to Amazon in Germany by year end. Heavy goods vehicles and other commercial vehicles make up around 36% of Germany’s domestic transport emissions, according to Germany’s BMUV. The 20 Volvo FH Electric are expected to drive more than one million road kilometers annually.

Alstom signs first contract for battery-electric regional trains in Germany

The second one, also in Germany, for 27 trains to the Frankfurt metropolitan area. The battery traction sub-system is designed and supplied by Alstom’s traction center of excellence in Tarbes. Alstom has signed two contracts for hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered trains. The first one is for 14 trains in the German region of Lower Saxony.

Northvolt to build third gigafactory in Germany

With an annual potential production capacity of 60 GWh, Northvolt Drei will deliver a supply of sustainably produced lithium-ion batteries to the European market, sufficient for some one million electric vehicles.
