is supplying ultracapacitors to ABB for its recent contract win to upgrade Philadelphia area rail lines. ABB will install a hybrid version of its high-efficiency ENVILINE wayside energy recovery and storage system for the Southeast Pennsylvania Transit Authority’s (SEPTA) light rail system serving the greater Philadelphia area. When decelerating or braking, a traction vehicle (train, tram or trolleybus) is feeding the regenerated braking energy back into the DC power network.

While the most populous states will see the highest sales volumes, with California, New York and Florida likely leading the way, as a percentage of total vehicle sales, smaller states will lead, with Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, DC, and Delaware among the top states for PEV penetration.
