Yet, this AM, I got Kay Crow's email about her story appearing earlier in the Sierra Mountain Times. as copied & pasted below with pix to the left: “Spirit of DC” Goes the Long and Winding Road to Groveland. His 2005 Toyota PRIUS PHEV carries 20 12-volt gel batteries in the battery pack.

Quicke sidenote: PHEV3A as an acronym now encompasses the Tour de AZ: "Spirit of DC" Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle All Around Arizona (PHEV3A) EVducational Tour (tho it could change, depending on sponsorship to AAA Tour de AZ, or even eTour de AZ). The general theme (and purpose) is: Plug-in Arizona!

Charging the GT PE is through a CCS combo connector that has up to 150kW DC fast-charging capability and 10.5 With DC fast charging, 20 to 80% charging can be achieved in under an hour. The GT-PE also allows “One Pedal Driving” using the car’s regenerative capabilities to slow and stop without touching the brake pedal.

En route to Santa Monica, the "Spirit" did a few towns: First Run was to Sierra Vista. Next, the "Spirit" go her synthetic Mobil One oil change at Sierra Toyota. EVJerr even signed up for the 2009 Prius PHEV, too! A Historic first at Sierra Toyota. Second Run was to University of Arizona in Tucson.

Stand by, of course!

Cheers PHEV3A'rs, EVADC'rs and EVnthusiasts, One & All - In San Diego, the "Spirit" did on PHEV Day 135, Tuesday, 10 February 2009, a run to Cuyamaca College. Thursday was PHEV 136 Day, 11 February 2009, with the Run to Phoenix. The "Spirit" was the first EVer PHEV seen at Douglas HS. for 30; 93.5 for 33; 86.4 gal = $18.24.
