Of course, most owners of EVs use their vehicles in a local environment and, those that can, charge their vehicle’s battery overnight at home or during the day at work. Since it was not a Level 2 charger, I knew it would not gain much juice overnight. That meant looking for a decent public DC charging station in a nearby town.

In the 1990s, batteries had far less capacity than they do today, and for the small community of EV users, the prospect of running out of juice and becoming stranded was very real. In such an emergency, a bidirectional EV with charge to spare could come to the rescue. Those applications will require institutional fleets of EVs.

Neutral richii @ Apr 19th 2009 5:28PM @ everyone, I can see what your trying to say, that without gas powered vehicles that a much larger strain will be put on electrical facilities that also contribute to air pollution and degrade our environment. but its never even been close to the amount of garbage that gas power vehicles produce.

Jay’s first EV was the DC motor Reva, which he bought way back in the early 2000s. Guests are not allowed to get their dogs along, so Jungle Hut environments are deer friendly.
