Our customers told us they wanted the option of an automated transmission, as well as the benefits of Wingman Advanced safety technology in the natural gas Pinnacle model. In response, we’ve expanded our offer to ensure we satisfy these requirements.

—Stephen Roy, president of Mack Trucks North America

Equipped with the Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine, Mack Pinnacle models can run on either compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG). The maintenance-free aftertreatment system, combined with low-cost natural gas, reduces vehicle lifecycle costs and thereby improves customers’ return on investment.

The Wingman Advanced system provides adaptive cruise control with braking that actively intervenes to help drivers maintain a safe following distance by reducing the throttle; engaging the engine retarder; or, if necessary, applying the foundation brakes.

Mack Trucks, Inc. is part of the Volvo Group.

I prefer automatic transmission in these trucks because the 18 speeds without synchronisms is really slpw and difficult to handle. It should be cheaper to fuel and 10 time less polluting.

If there ever was a use for electric boost, it's in heavy trucks; hybrid trucks make more sense than hybrid cars from a fuel savings perspective because of the huge fuel usage .
